Plateau United goalkeeper Okiemute Odah has revealed he played with injury when the NPFL champions fell 4-2 to Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia in a CAF Champions League clash.
“I suffered an injury during the warm-up before the match, but knowing the importance of the match, I decided to go and start the match thinking I could cope.
“However, I could not cope and I had to leave the pitch at the end.”
He said the whole experience was difficult for him.
“I felt really bad to let in three goals within the space of 12 minutes, since I started professional football, I have never conceded like that.
“This was my worst match ever.”
He told SCORENigeria he hopes to soon recover from the injury.
“I am getting better gradually and in little time I will resume training fully,” he disclosed.
He will also back Plateau United to beat Etoile Sahel on Saturday in Jos to reach the money-spinning group stage of the CAF Champions League.
“I still believe that we will qualify at the expense of the Tunisian side with the right attitude and mentality in the second leg in Jos,” he said.
“We can make it to the group stage of the Champions League.”
