Captain and goalkeeper of the CHAN Super Eagles Ikechukwu Ezenwa has told SCORENigeria he hopes to stage a comeback to action earlier than the three weeks doctors said he would fully recover from a knee injury he suffered in 2018 CHAN semi-final against Sudan.
The Enyimba shot stopper has begun his rehabilitation in Abuja following his left knee injury in Morocco.
He is sweating to be fit in time for next month’s World Cup warm-ups against Poland and Serbia.
He told SCORENigeria: “I am happy to have started by rehab here in Abuja and I am much better and feeling less pains. I can jump very well and even take part in some light exercises.
“I am actually recovering faster than expected, I give God the glory. It is my wish to return soon as the doctors are really keeping me in good fitness level and I am better today after the first recuperating fitness training.
“I want to thank the NFF for their support after the injury.
“Soon I will be back and better.”
