Segun Alebiosu wheels away after his match winner for Niger Tornadoes against Nasarawa United today

Niger Tornadoes today ended a five-game losing streak as they hung on to beat Nasarawa United, while Enugu Rangers, Yobe Desert Stars, FC Ifeanyiubah and Kwara United all won at home.

Segun Alebiosu‘s 11th minute strike in Lokoja has now seen Tornadoes up to 15th with nine points from eight matches.

Kano Pillars shared the points with hosts Sunshine Stars in Akure and they remain third on the table with 15 points, a point behind leaders Akwa United who have a game in hand.

FC Ifeanyiubah stopped regional rivals Heartland with goals by Ekene Awazie and Seka Pascal, while Emeka Godwin and Stephen Alfred scored for Kwara United to bag all three points at the expense of visiting Katsina United, who are yet to record a point on the road.

Abia Warriors are rooted at the bottom of the standings after they fell at Go-Round FC courtesy of Okon Otop’s third minute winner.

Philip Asuquo was a late match winner for Yobe Desert Stars at home against Rivers United, so too Kevin Itoya for Enugu Rangers against El Kanemi Warriors.
