Former Malmo FF of Sweden striker Edward Ofere has bounced back to game after he played his first game for his new Vietnamese side FLC Thanh Hoa in a 1-0 win in the AFC Champions League group game against Global FC from the Philippines.
Ofere lasted 61 minutes on the pitch as his Vietnamese club began their Group G campaign in the Asian apex club competition on a sound note.
Capped three times by Nigeria, Ofere has had to endure a bag of mixed fortunes in his career after an illustrious spell at Malmo that earned him a move to Italian Serie A side Lecce.
Winning the Scottish Cup at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2015 remains the brightest highlight in his European sojourn.
He has had to drop down to fourth-tier league in Sweden in a desperate bid to knock his career back into shape, before he embarked on his current Vietnamese journey.
