AS Real Bamako Nigerian midfielder Temitope Folarin has told SCORENigeria he hopes to plot the downfall of MFM FC in the CAF Champions League.
Both teams clash this afternoon in Bamako in the Champions League preliminary round, first leg tie.
Former Probitex FC protégé Folarin told www.scorenigeria.com.ng: “Qualifying against MFM FC to the next round is the only thing on our minds otherwise there is no point even playing the match at all and I believe we have the capacity to achieve this starting with earning a win and keeping a clean sheet at home.
“Although I am not a keen follower of the NPFL, MFM FC having finished second in the NPFL are obviously a very good team, so we are expecting a really tough match.”
About his experience playing in the Mali Premier League, the JMG Academy product appreciated the academy for visiting Nigeria to scout for players.
“AS Real de Bamako are actually my first professional team having joined from the JMG Academy. And I am very grateful to the academy for giving me this opportunity,” the young midfielder, who wears jersey No 5 for the top Malian club.
“My objectives is play in Europe as soon as possible and enhance my chances to represent the Super Eagles in the nearest future, but I am not ruling any opportunity to play back home in the NPFL as my family are still based in Lagos.”
He also dreams of playing for Nigeria.
“It is my greatest heart desire as a footballer to defend the colours of my country. I will jump at any opportunity with everything in me,” he vowed.
