Nwankwo Kanu has confirmed a SCORENigeria Exclusive that he has sold off Nigeria National League club Papilo FC, saying he now wishes to focus on his academy.
Scorenigeria.com.ng last week broke the story on the sale of Papilo FC slot in the second-tier NNL to Calabar Rovers.
“Yeah, I just wanted to continue with the (football) academy and other sporting events”, the former Arsenal and Inter Milan forward curtly explained.
Recently, the ex-Super Eagles skipper complained that state government-owned teams in the lower league were muscling out privately-owned clubs like Papilo FC because of their bigger budgets.
