Hosts Morocco got off to a flying start at the 2018 CHAN after they thrashed Mauritania 4-0 in the opening match in Casablanca tonight.
Morocco will tackle Guinea in their next Group A match on Wednesday.
After a goalless first half, the Atlas Lions stepped up their offensive in front of 36,000 fans and the 14-year-old crowned prince inside the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca and were duly rewarded in the 66th minute through top striker Ayoub El Kaabi.
Winger Ismail El Haddad made it 2-0 on 72 minutes, when the Mauritania goalkeeper made a harsh of his left-footed shot from inside the box.
El Kaabi got his brace 10 minutes from time, before substitute Achraf Bencharki netted a brilliant individual goal in stoppage.
