Katsina United striker Chinedu Udechukwu

Striker Chinedu Udechukwu has stayed away from a return to Katsina United after failed bids to join Enugu Rangers and Rivers United.

Udechukwu, who scored 11 goals last season for ‘The Changi Boys’, has insisted on a move away from the team even though he still has two years left on his Katsina United contract.

“Chinedu is still in Jos. He is staying put there and insisting he wants a fresh agreement with Katsina United,” a top source informed SCORENigeria

The bulky forward was first pictured signing contract papers of ‘The Pride of Rivers’, but he was later to be spotted featuring for ‘The Coal City Flying Antelopes’ during the South East/South South Preseason Football Tournament at Nnewi.

He even denied ever signing any document for the Port Harcourt dude, describing the picture as mere media creation.

Katsina demanded from Rivers United 20 million Naira for Udechukwu and 22 million Naira for Martin Usule.

“It isn’t funny, I don’t know when our transfer fees rode to match those of England,  Spain and other top European Leagues”, an official of Rivers United retorted.

“No doubt they are quality players who could have added significant value to our team, but then, the asking price was well out of the moon”.

Udechukwu’s move to Rangers has similarly been truncated following Katsina United’s demand for what Rangers officials described as outrageous fee.

“For now,  it looks like Udechukwu will not be part if us this season.  Katsina United N20m for his clearance and we feel this is outrageous except if the management is doing something behind the scene”, an official of Rangers said.

Scorenigeria.com.ng understands that Katsina United are not willing to release their strike jewel of inestimable value.

“Chinedu (Udechukwu) is our player. He is not for sale.

“He has gone nowhere and will be going nowhere,” Katsina United team manager Ganiyu Adeleke told Scorenigeria.com.ng
