Coach Salisu Yusuf surrounded by CHAN Eagles players and officials

The home-based Super Eagles were in high spirits when they arrived safely this afternoon in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of this year’s CHAN.

The CHAN Eagles arrived Morocco via Istanbul, Turkey, after they departed Abuja Monday midnight.

The team of 23 players led by coach Salisu Yusuf are expected to train for a couple of days at the Moroccan technical centre before they head out to Tangiers, where they will play their opening Group C match against Rwanda on Monday night.

Libya and Equatorial Guinea are the other teams in the group.

This is Nigeria’s third appearance in the competition reserved for players who feature in their domestic leagues.

They placed third in 2014, but failed to go past the group stage two years later in Rwanda.
