Gernot Rohr expects the Super Eagles to do more to help the team and they should never stop running, according to striker Brown Ideye.
Ideye played under Rohr until he moved to China early last year.
The Franco-german coach qualified Nigeria to this year’s World Cup in Russia and has been given a fresh two-year contract as a result.
“He expects a lot from his players, he wants to you to keep running and don’t stop. He said football is all about running and so he wants you to run more, do more, play with confidence and help the team,” he told SCORENigeria.
“My first impression of him was that he’s calm, he wants to bring out the best in you and he talks a lot with the players.
“He’s a man who can give us what we want. He has proved this by qualifying us to the World Cup.”
Ideye, who has demanded a recall to the Eagles, also told SCORENigeria he expects Nigeria to do well at Russia 2018 with adequate preparations.
“We should play more friendlies, prepare early and not count on the fire-brigade approach,” he said.
“We ought to play the big teams because these are the teams we will face at the World Cup.”
