The home-based Super Eagles will resume training this evening in Abuja after they broke on New Year’s eve as tension has gripped the team on account of the announcement of the final squad to CHAN, officials told SCORENigeria
The team will train by 4pm at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
Last week, the CHAN Eagles beat Royal Sports 2-0 and Capital City FC 4-1 in test games.
The battle to make the final 23-man squad to CHAN has been fierce among the 31 players in the training camp.
“The competition has been tough and we hope to pick the best players who will represent the country in Morocco,” coach Salisu Yusuf told SCORENigeria
Nigeria are to submit their final squad to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) not later than January 3.
The team are expected to depart for Morocco this week, but there are now strong indications that the extended holidays may mean they will shift their January 3 departure by a few more days due to some logistic considerations.
