Investigations by SCORENigeria have uncovered desperate moves by the sacked management of Niger Tornadoes led by Adamu Aliyu to stay in office even after Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has appointed a new management team.
The new management board is led by a former Vice-Chairman of Niger Football Association, Mustapha Gawu, and he will be assisted by Bello Auta.
The inauguration of the new management has been put on hold after the sacked management put forward an argument to the state deputy Governor, who is acting for Governor Sani Bello, that the timing of the new appointments will affect the fortunes of the NPFL team.
“The old management has a lot to be afraid of and that is why they have used all their connections in government to ensure these appointments do not see the light of day,” a top source informed SCORENigeria
“They have employed all the tricks in the world to hang on to power and that was why the new management could not be sworn in even after they have all received their appointment letters.”
Allegations of mismanagement have been leveled against the past board amid speculations that they could be probed by the newly appointed management.
Officials further informed SCORENigeria that Governor Sani Bello is expected back in office soon to resolve this impasse.
