Alex Iwobi wants to do much more at Arsenal

Nigeria star Alex Iwobi has admitted that for a No 10, he needs to score more goals and play more regularly for Premier League club Arsenal.

Iwobi has only managed six goals in 47 appearances since his Arsenal debut two years ago.

This season, he has only scored once.

He said he has to improve on his goal scoring.

“I wish I could get more goals,” said the player, who scored in his first start for Arsenal two years ago and has gone down in Nigeria football history as the man whose goal against Zambia qualified Nigeria to the 2018 World Cup in October.

“I am working on this.”

“Also, I wish I could more games, but we have a lot of world-class players at the club.”

He said he has grown in confidence as he grew older.

“I have shown more self-belief and confidence as I grew older because I did not have much confidence in my ability while growing up and will shy away from physical side of the game,” explained the 21-year-old Iwobi.

The World Cup-bound Super Eagles star further said his long-term future is at the London Gunners.

“I cannot imagine myself somewhere else,” said the forward who rose through the ranks at Arsenal.
