The home-based Super Eagles will open training camp in Kano at the Tahir Guest Hotel at the weekend with call-ups to be announced tomorrow, officials have told SCORENigeria

The backroom staff led by coach Salisu Yusuf are due to enter camp on Saturday with players expected latest on Sunday ahead of the opening day of action at NPFL Super 4 on Monday.

The Eagles plan to use the pre-season competition as part of their build-up for CHAN 2018, which kicks off on January 13 in Morocco.

Coach Salisu is expected to announce a large squad of about 30 players for this training camp in Kano with the bulk of the invited players drawn from the recent WAFU Cup in Ghana.

The team are also due to finalise their preparations in Rabat, where they will train at least two weeks to the big kick-off in Morocco.

Nigeria are drawn against Libya, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea at the CHAN and open their campaign against Rwanda.

In 2014, they placed third on their debut at the bi-ennial competition reserved for players who ply their trade in their respective domestic leagues.

Last year, they failed to go past the group stage in Rwanda.
