SCORENIGERIA turns the spotlight on Nigeria’s top performers on a rather difficult weekend across the globe, from Mr Consistency Wilfred Ndidi to match winner Henry Onyekuru.
5.Wilfred Ndidi (Midfielder/Leicester City)
Ndidi and ‘The Foxes’ may have lost at home to rampant Premier League leaders Manchester City, but no one can fault the consistency of the Nigeria defensive midfielder, who has now played every minute in all 12 league games for his club. He may not be spectacular but he gets the job done without lowering the standard.
4.Tyronne Ebuehi (Defender/ADO Den Haag)
The right wing-back followed up on his terrific showing against Argentina in a friendly with another super showing as his Dutch club beat Heracles 4-1 in the league. He did well both defensively and offensively as he played the entire duration.
3.Bartholomew Ogbeche (Striker/Willem 11)
The veteran Nigeria striker ensured Willem 11 shared the spoils at home against Sparta Rotterdam when he grabbed the equaliser to complete a remarkable comeback after they fell behind 2-0.
It was the first goal of the season for the 33-year-old striker, who is still strutting his stuff at the highest level in Europe 16 years after he moved to Europe.
2.Samuel Kalu (Forward/KAA Gent)
The youngster netted his fourth goal as his Belgian club won 3-0 at Lokeren. He is now adding goals to his exciting wing play in Europe.
1.Henry Onyekuru (Forward/Anderlecht)
He was again the match winner for champions Anderlecht in a 2-1 win at Royal Excel Mouscron with scouts of mighty Barcelona watching in the stands.
This was his seventh goal of the season in Belgium.
His goals have meant Anderlecht are now among the front runners in the league after an indifferent start to the season.
