Niger Tornadoes have qualified for the final of this year’s Aiteo Cup final after they dumped holders FC Ifeanyiubah 4-3 on aggregate today.
The Minna club won the semi-final first leg 4-2 in Lokoja at the weekend, before they lost 1-0 today in Nnewi.
Godwin Obaje scored FC Ifeanyiubah only goal from the penalty spot four minutes from time, but it was not enough to overturn the loss in Lokoja at the weekend.
FC Ifeanyiubah won the cup competition last year after they pipped Nasarawa United on penalties.
Tornadoes will now await the winners of the other semi-final between Akwa United and Sunshine Stars, which will be decided on Sunday after Sunshine Stars won the first leg by a lone goal.
The cup final will be played on October 15 in Lagos with the winners qualifying to represent Nigeria in next year’s CAF Confederation Cup.
