They finished second in the Northern Conference behind winners Kwara United and ahead of closest rivals Jigawa Golden Stars.

The Damaturu club recorded 38 points from 18 matches.

SCORENigeria has already reported that former Kano Pillars and Nasarawa United coach Mohammed Baba Ganaru is now expected to be confirmed to lead the Northeastern club in the top league after he acted as a consultant in the run-in to their promotion.

Abuja clubs relegated, FRSC FC and FC Abuja, were relegated on the final day of action after they failed to win their matches.

FC Abuja lost 1-0 at Mighty Jets and FRSC could only manage a 1-1 draw at Kaduna United.
