Holders FC Ifeanyiubah have continued their march in the Aiteo Cup after they achieved a double over ABS FC, while Sunshine Stars survived a scare by lower league side Oshun United to reach the last-four of the cup competition.
Ifeanyiubah beat hosts ABS FC 1-0 in Ilorin to go through to the semis 4-0 in aggregate having won the first leg in Nnewi in midweek.
‘The Anambra Warriors’ match winner today was Patrick Ikeokwu, who hit the mark on 74 minutes.
They will now meet the winners of the match between league champions Plateau United and Niger Tornadoes.
Tornadoes won the first leg 2-0 in Lokoja but the return leg in Jos was moved to tomorrow morning to heavy downpour in the tin city.
Also tomorrow, Akwa United will host Katsina United in their own quarterfinal first leg clash.
The overall winners will battle Sunshine Stars for a place in the final of the annual cup competition.
Sunshine Stars fell behind at home through Oshun United danger man Tosin Omoyele, but they fought back to win 3-1 and advance 3-2 on aggregate, but not without some skirmishes in Ijebu-ode today after fans of the visiting team took the laws into their hands.
Omoyele also scored his team’s goal in Osogbo on Wednesday.
