Chima Akas (right) in WAFU Cup action against Sierra Leone. He will not start today against Guinea

Goalkeeper Dele Ajiboye, Olamilekan Adeleye, Daniel Itodo and Destiny Ashadi will start for the Super Eagles in today’s WAFU Cup Group A match against Guinea, while Stephen Eze, Chima Akas and Rabiu Ali have been dropped to the bench.

This will be Ajiboye’s first start for the team in Ghana following the exploits of skipper Ikechukwu Ezenwa.

Plateau United leftback Daniel Itodo will also see action for the first time ahead of Chima Akas.

Adeleye impressed in his first start against Mali on Thursday, while Ashadi from Katsina United was introduced in that game.

NPFL Goal King Anthony Okpotu will start again and will hope to reproduce his Lobi Stars combination with Kingsley Okpotu upfront.

Both defenders Stephen Eze and Chima Akas as well as experienced midfielder Rabiu Ali have started the team’s first two games.

“We want to bring some freshness to the team especially as we have a small squad of only 18 players to choose from,” an official told SCORENigeria

Kick–off is 4pm Nigerian time.
