Sone Aluko will make English Championship side Reading a better team, according to manager Jaap Stam.
The 28-year-old Nigeria international has signed a four-year contract with Reading after they agreed with Fulham a transfer fee that could rise to 7.5 million pounds.
Reading manager Jaap Stam told his club’s official website he is delighted to have finally landed Aluko after Fulham severally rejected their bids.
“In Sone we welcome a quality player into our squad,” remarked the manager.
“With his pace and ability on the ball, he can make life difficult for every opponent we face
this season and he has experience of playing at the level we want to play at.
“He poses a threat going forward, he keeps the ball well, he can play as a striker or out on the wing and I am sure he will improve us as a squad. So, I’m very happy that he has chosen.”
Aluko joined Fulham on a free last summer after he was released by Hull City.
