Victor Moses – Chelsea star is back for next month’s qualifiers against Cameroon

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has exclusively informed SCORENigeria skipper Mikel Obi, Chelsea star Victor Moses and Germany-based defender Leon Balogun are all listed on his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon after injury ruled them out of the country’s recent games.

The NFF will announce the squad this week.

“Mikel Obi is coming back after his injury. We missed him very much. Also, Victor Moses and Leon Balogun will also return to the team,” Rohr told SCORENigeria in an exclusive interview.

“Unfortunately, we will be without our goalkeeper Carl Ikeme, who is sick.

“But we wish to win for him, so that we will go with him to Russia (for the World Cup).”

Mikel – Super Eagles skipper is back for Cameroon according to Rohr

Mikel has not played for Nigeria this year since he moved to China from Chelsea in the Premier League.

He will later undergo surgery for an abdominal problem in London, which sidelined him for four months before he returned to action for his Chinese club last week.

Both Victor Moses and Balogun have also not featured for the Eagles this year on account of injury.

Victor Moses underwent a toe surgery at the end of the Premier League season.

Rohr has told SCORENigeria he has invited 28 players including three players from the CHAN Eagles.

Nigeria face Cameroon in Uyo on September 1, before both teams clash again three days later in Yaounde.
