Heartland Aiteo Cup Round of 64 hero Ebele Obi has told ScoreNigeria.com.ng his top target is to ensure a prompt return to the top-flight league for the Owerri club after they were relegated last season.
The goalkeeper, who saved two penalty kicks on Wednesday to help his team see off tough Insurance 5-4 on penalties after the game ended goalless, said getting back to the top flight will give him and the team’s supporters great joy.
He said the victory in the cup will further boost his team’s confidence.
“My top target is to help my team return to the premier league,” the older brother of Mikel Obi told SCORENigeria
“We are on course and that set goal is almost reached as we are top of the league.
“I feel very great for the penalty saves and the overall performance in the game.
“The victory from the Cup against Insurance will boost our confidence to consolidate our position in the league and move farther in the cup because we lost our last league game before this cup game.”
