Benin looked confident and in high spirits as they rounded up their training this evening at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano ahead of tomorrow’s CHAN playoff return leg match against hosts Nigeria.
They played a two-a-side game of 30 minutes each half with controversial Benin FA boss Moucharafou Anjorin in attendance.
They are determined to get a result in front of what promises to be a sold-out crowd at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.
They rejected the local transportation offered them by their hosts on arrival in Kano yesterday morning and the players also checked out of the Grand Central Hotel booked for them by Nigeria, insisting they were “uncomfortable” with the accommodation.
The team led by former international forward Oumar Tchomogo shocked Nigeria 1-0 in the first leg in Cotonou on Sunday.
Skipper Mama Siebo tucked away a late penalty for Benin to carry the day.
The overall winners of this playoff will advance to CHAN 2018 in Kenya.
