Kayode says goodbye to Austria so as to join Manchester City

Austrian Wien have confirmed Nigeria striker Olanrewaju Kayode has finally joined Manchester City after “long and tough negotiations”.

The Austrian club announced the deal is for four years and Kayode will play this season on loan at Spanish club Girona.

The financial details of the transfer were not disclosed, however.

“After very long and tough negotiations, we have now clarified all the details and now also the last signatures and formalities done, so the transfer is finalised,” explained Austria wien top official Markus Kraetschmer.

“In the last few weeks and months, there were several offers for Larry (Kayode), he had two years of contract with us, and of course we did not want to lose him, but he wanted to take advantage of his opportunity abroad and a much improved Offer came from England, we also agreed with his wish,” said sports director Franz Wohlfahrt.

The Nigeria striker scored 37 goals in 85 matches for Austria Wien in his two seasons at the club.
