Nigerian forward Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis is the leading scorer in the Belgian league with four goals, while compatriot Samuel Kalu opened his goals account for the new season today as KAA Gent drew 1-1 at KV Mechelen.
Dennis, who has been included in the Super Eagles scouting report, netted the first goal for Club Brugge at Zulte-Waregem on Friday to bring his goals haul thus far this season to four.
The 19-year-old former Zorya of Ukraine ace grabbed a brace at Lokeren on the opening day of the season, before he followed that up with another goal against KAS Eupen.
Club Brugge are top of the table with a maximum nine points after three matches.
Kalu, on the other hand, hit target after 33 minutes today for Gent, but the home team KV Mechelen had to wait till three minutes from time before they restored parity.
Nigeria internationals Moses Simon and Anderson Esiti were both unused subs for Gent.
Gent are now 13th in the standings courtesy of today’s draw.
