Kingsley Eduwo has said he is ready to spearhead Nigeria’s attack in Sunday’s 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier in Benin Republic.
The Lobi Stars forward, who scored two goals in the test match against Kano Pillars Feeders, will be expected to be the Eagles arrow head in Cotonou.
And he is undaunted in the task that lies ahead of him for the senior national side.
“I appreciate the (pressure). It’s teamwork, I work for the team, I make sure I do my job,” Eduwo told ScoreNigeria.com.ng
“The coaches have been making us understand what is required of us. As a striker I want to ensure that I score on matchday.”
The former Sunshine Stars striker said he hopes his teammates apply what they were taught in training and ensure Benin Republic are severely beaten at the Stade de L’Amitie on Sunday, starting from 4pm.
“We have played together as team and understand ourselves. All we need is to apply what we were taught in training when the battle begins,” he said.
“The team are well set up for a good outing and I hope we secure a massive victory.”
The return leg will be played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Saturday, August 19, with the winners qualifying for the 5th African Nations Championship in Kenya early next year.
