Katsina United skipper Nasiru Sani has vowed to be at his best after he was named on a 20-man matchday squad for CHAN 2018 final playoff in Benin on Sunday.
Coach Salisu Yusuf Thursday named his final 20-man squad to face Benin for a place in the tournament proper in Kenya early next year.
Left-full back Nasiru Sani told his club’s official website www.fckatsinaunited.com he was delighted to make the cut for the trip to Cotonou.
“I am delighted to make the final 20-man list. It was not easy to make the final list because the competition was very serious,” he said.
“Everybody gave their best, but all of us cannot make the final squad, some of us have to drop.
“I really appreciate the trust reposed in me by the coaches and I’ll surely do my best to justify my inclusion in the team.”
The overlapping defender also used this opportunity to congratulate Katsina United for picking a vital draw at Rivers United on Monday.
“I was monitoring the game on our Twitter handle, I thought we had lost the game again, but I was overjoyed after the final whistle,” he revealed.
“I wish to seize this opportunity to say congratulations to the management, coaching crew and players for a job well done.”
