Coach Salisu Yusuf has said he will release players from the CHAN Eagles training squad in Kano to play for their respective clubs this weekend, just as he praised the commitment shown by the call-ups.
The CHAN Eagles began training this morning at the Sani Abacha Stadium with 25 players involved while five other call-ups are expected.
“We will train for the next three days and then they will be released for their matches on Sunday,” Yusuf informed SCORENigeria after this morning’s training session.
“I am impressed with commitment shown by the players as we had almost a full house today.”
He told SCORENigeria that goalkeeper trainer Alloy Agu will join the squad later today after he encountered flight hitches from Lagos yesterday.
The home-based Eagles will train twice daily as they step up their preparations for a CHAN 2018 final playoff against Benin next month.
The first leg is slated for Cotonou on August 12 with the return leg in Kano on August 18.
