Super Eagles invitee Marouf Yusuf has admitted Zamalek must deliver against arch rivals Al Ahly in a matchday 34 Egypt Premier League fixture tonight.
The bitter Cairo rivals will take to the field at the Borg El Arab Stadium tonight. Kickoff is 7pm Egyptian time.
Zamalek, who are third on the table with 64 points from 33 games, have their pride on the line against the champions-elect.
Yusuf, who scored in ‘The White Knights’ 3-0 victory over El Geish on Thursday harped on the importance of the game against Ahly.
“No Zamalek faithful likes to lose to Al Ahly. It’s a derby and we are really looking forward to the game. Hopefully we should be the victorious team at the end of 90 minutes,” Yousef told ScoreNigeria
“We are strong and have to prove our strength by winning the derby.
“Ahly are in good shape and have very good players. They play very well together.
“The match is the talk of the town. I have already seen how much this game means to our supporters. I see what they want from the players, we must try to win this game.”
The Super Eagles invitee also told SCORENigeria it was a great one to score in the Egypt Cup quarterfinal against El Geish.
“To get one goal, be part of the cup win and work hard is great. It will give me a lot of confidence for the next match,” he added.
“Every game you win gives you more confidence. You win more games and you become more relaxed. There was a lot of pressure on the team after the CAF Champions League ouster.
“But we still feel we can win more games. We have confidence we will get the results that we want.”
