SCORENIGERIA can exclusively report that last season’s NPFL hotshot Godwin Obaje has been left out of the latest CHAN Eagles list of call-ups.
Obaje netted 18 goals last season and he has so far fired 10 goals for FC Ifeanyiubah with six of these coming from the penalty spot.
Incidentally, the former Wikki Tourists star was part of the CHAN Eagles of 2016, but he left midstream to pursue trials at Slovak club AS Trencin.
MFM FC striker Stephen Odey is the leading scorer in the league with 16 goals and as expected he will lead several of his rivals in the goals’ race including Alhassan Ibrahim ‘Muazzam’ to the home-based Eagles.
The CHAN Eagles will battle either Togo or Benin next month for a place in the competition proper to be staged next year in Kenya.
