Odion Ighalo now in China

Nigeria international Odion Ighalo has told ScoreNigeria he asked coach Gernot Rohr to be left out of the Super Eagles friendlies in London for him to feature for his new Chinese club in the new season, which gets underway this weekend.

The former Watford striker, who is now based in China, said he spoke with the coach to allow him settle in quickly in China.

“I agreed with the coach that I need to settle down and play game here (China) as the season is starting this weekend,” Ighalo told ScoreNigeria

Ighalo’s new Chinese Super League club Changchun Yatai open their league campaign on Saturday at Shanghai SIPG.

Nigeria will take on Senegal on March 23 and four days later face Burkina Faso all at the Hive Stadium in London as part of their build-up for AFCON 2019 qualifier against South Africa in June and World Cup double header against Cameroon from August.
