Bernard Ovoke – Rivers United star

Newly signed strikers John Mbaoma and Ifeanyi Okoye could well make their CAF Confederation Cup debut for Rivers United against hosts Club Africain tomorrow, reports LIVE from Tunisia.

Rivers United coach Stanley Eguma has listed the pair in his strong 18-man squad for the game slated for the 45,000-capacity Stade Olympique Rades, Tunis on Sunday.

Mbaoma arrived Rivers United from domestic Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL leaders Plateau United having scored 10 goals in the season.

Ifeanyi Okoye is also a mid-season acquisition from Niger Tornadoes and joins Gabriel Wassa and Lukman Mohammed, his former teammates at Tornadoes.

Rivers United stormed Tunis Saturday morning after a night’s stop-over at Cairo, Egypt.

The Nigerian side are the only one of four teams who have progressed to the group stage of CAF interclub competitions this term following Rangers, Wikki Tourists and FC Ifeanyiubah eliminations early in the campaign.
