Ahmed Musa – He won’t be leading Eagles out against Senegal

Leicester City forward Ahmed Musa will not be the one to lead the Super Eagles in tonight’s friendly against Senegal in London, officials have informed SCORENigeria

Ahmed Musa is assistant captain and in the absence of skipper Mikel Obi, who has been excused from the London friendlies so that he could settle in quickly at his new Chinese club, he would be expected to be the one to lead out the Eagles against the Teranga lions tonight.

“The captain for the Eagles has not been decided yet, but it won’t be Ahmed Musa,” a team official told SCORENigeria

Skipper Mikel Obi surrendered the captain’s armband during last year’s World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Uyo.

Ahmed Musa is also battling Gent forward Moses Simon for a starting shirt in tonight’s game.

The former CSKA of Russia star has been short of confidence sine he was frozen out at Premier League champions Leicester following the shock sack of Claudio Ranieri.

He has yet to justify the 18 million pounds Leicester City splashed on him last summer.
